Deepak Maharaj is the professional name of Deepak M. Sharma  who  is  the  older  son  of  Maharaj   Mohanlal Hariram Sharma. Deepak maharaj's younger brother Manu stays in Jakarta Indonesia and is carrying on from  there.

            Deepak  maharaj  was  declared  by  his  father as his successor. Both his sons  Deepak  Maharaj  and  Manu   mutually agreed  that  deepak  will carry on with the rich tradition   and   culture    and   manu   will  carry  on  with Business. But  it  is in him that the  inherited  art has borne more fruit, spanning the entire globe and giving fresh life to the neglected art and tradition.

            Deepak Maharaj's  mother  is Nirmala Guryani who has been a source of Courage and inspiration to the whole family. Coming  from a family with a great respect for each and  every   human  being . Deepak  Maharaj  has  been keeping himself updated with all the present day happenings.

            Deepak  Maharaj   married Durga whose name was changed to Vandana, daughter of Dr. Chuharram T.Sharma and  late  Mrs. Maya Devi  on  20 July 1992. Her Beauty and Talents    have    since     lent    wonderous    support   to  Deepak  Maharaj in enhancing his talents and abilities.

          As a housewife and as his pillar of strength Vandana is a vital part of both, Deepak Maharaj's life and Career.

INHERITANCE MADE ALIVE
            Deepak  Maharaj  development  as  a  maharaj is a continuation of the tradition that made his father his "guru" and teacher.  He began performing  in  his  teens, when he was   still   in   school,  and  presenting   some  of  his  own inventive performances.  His father was so happy with this development  that  he  announced  to  the  World  that  his 'Successor' would be his elder son Deepak.

             In  the early 90's Deepak maharaj had just settled down  and  his  father   started  withdrawing  slowly  from the scene.

               All  those who doubted whether the son would be able  to match his father were silenced by the sheer talent, rich presentation and  flamboyant  performance  of Deepak Maharaj.  Today,   Deepak   Maharaj   has  set  the  highest standards,     scaling     ever     new     heights.    But    his acknowledgement of the tradition represented by his father and other ancestors is ever present.  "Even in the way I call myself,  I  never  refer  to  myself  expect  as  DEEPAK,  to remind myself and others that there were always my elders before me, says the caring son

             Deepak maharaj comes from a family of practising brahmans  from  the  time   the  sindhi  society  has  been around. He is the grandson of 
the  famous  HARU  MAHARAJ  whose name was MAHARAJ HARIRAM TOLARAM SHARMA. Maharaj    Hariram migrated to india like all the other sindhis 
during partition.

              Maharaj    Hariram   was   involved   with KRISHNA MANDALI OF HYDERABAD SINDH. He along with  BHAI  HASSOMAL  TOLARAM  GIANCHANDANI  had  established  the  THE  KRISHNA  MANDALI  in Hyderabad Sindh and they used to conduct   plays  involving  the  Awakening  the  people awareness  towards God and Almighty.

             It  was  Hariram  Maharaj who lived in  the LALWANI GHITI of HYDERABAD SINDH who moved into BANGALORE and since then  they  have  settled down in bangalore.

            Deepak  Maharaj  has   elevated  the  status  of   the  profession  further  more  from the position where   his   father   Maharaj   Mohanlal   Harirram  Sharma  left  it,  with the blessings and the backing
of his dear father he has been able to help upteen number of people to better their lives. He has added  modern  techniques,  surrealistic mixture of rustic, tradition and modernism along with the intellectual tradition created by his forefathers.

THE PRESENT:
          The couple  have  two  daughters, DISHA AND SIMRAN, "  my  children  make  my  art  alive"  says Deepak Maharaj the family man.  It is inevitable that the girls show the charm and talent of their parents. they  are  now  five  and  three  but  seem  to  have inherited everything that needs to be inherited.

EACH GENERATION HAS CONTRIBUTED ITS SHARE OF  MYSTICISM  THROUGH  CENTURIES TOWARDS THIS GOAL  AND  DEEPAK MAHARAJ  IS CARRYING THIS GREAT AND RICH HERITAGE AND TRADITION FORWARD.
